Our Little Story

My name is Laille Martin and I am the owner/director of The Safe & Happy Club Ltd. The Safe & Happy Club has been operating a great school holiday programme from Te Awamutu Primary School, since 2007. We started out very small, catering to 10 children, 3 of which were staffs own, to the present where we are able to take 70 children per day, and are fully booked most holidays (we also offer a junior & senior programme).

We now operate 2 holiday programmes in Te Awamutu, each holiday period. 2011 was a busy year for us, we opened an afterschool care programme and breakfast club from Pirongia School and an afterschool care programme, holiday programme and breakfast programme from Pekerau Primary School. Our Pekerau programme offers pick ups from local schools.

As we are an OSCAR programme, we have gained CYFS approval, which means we have policies & procedures which are onsite for parents to view and the WINZ subsidy is available for those families that qualify. We are reviewed every two years to ensure that we are following CYFS outlines. All our staff are police vetted and management have first aid certificates.

For more information and to print enrolment forms please go to the programme you require.

WHAT OUR PARENTS SAY

“As a parent and teacher, I truly appreciate the energy and planning that goes into such an excellent quality programme for all age groups. Not just the children stuff, but admin and staff management and all the little things that no one sees or hears about, that makes for a smooth running and positive experiences for children and their families/whanau. For a parent, walking away confident that my child is looked after is paramount. The Safe and Happy Club you do a fantastic service to our community for working parents and caregivers.”

MICHELLE
“I couldn’t be more happier to leave my son in the capable hands of Laille and the staff at The Safe & Happy Club. Their holiday programme is well planned with exciting things to do. My son looks forward to going in the holidays. He has an awesome time and comes home really worn out with all the fun things he gets up to either staying on site, or being out on trips.”
JOY
“My son MJ has attended The Safe & Happy Club for all of his primary years, he is in year 6, and he loves it. The main thing for me, as a mum, is that Laille is always professional and very friendly. If I need to know something about what MJ is doing, she is quick to inform me and will help in any way possible. I feel comfortable leaving MJ in their care, they rock!!!”
LINDA
“My son has been attending The Safe & Happy Club for about 4 years in the Holidays. Laille, Dawn and the team are really accommodating and are always willing to listen to any difficulties my son may be having or to answer my questions. The staff always put on a really good array of age appropriate activities with a good child to adult ratio. I would highly recommend the club to anyone who are looking to keep their child safe and entertained over the school holidays.”
TRACEY
“The Safe and Happy Club has been a big factor in my successful career and being able to work full time as a single mum without having to worry about the care of my two children during the holidays. I believe their safety, ratios, resources and organization skills are of high quality and something they should be very proud of. They have a well-structured and organized programme every holiday that my children enjoy. The Safe and Happy Club is an excellent environment for my children, they are always looked after to an excellent standard and all their needs and wants are met. Laille and the Team’s communication is always honest and professional when discussing any issues or concerns.”
